Anyone can learn to draw

At our February 7 meeting, through various fun drawing exercises, students will learn the tools of the sketch artist, and will leave the workshop with at least one good drawing to take home. Taught by graphic designer, painter
and Celtic artist, Linda Laforge.

The Artist
MEpaintingBW_largerAfter 15 years in the marketing industry as a graphic designer, Linda Laforge is painting and writing full time. Linda was practically drawing from birth. When she was in grade 3 she wrote short stories, illustrated them and created little books to give to her mother. Linda discovered Celtic Art and Knot work when she was in her twenties. She has several vibrant Faerie Paintings complete and is now beginning work on painting and illustrating other beings of Celtic Lore.

Linda is also teaching drawing, painting and creativity courses and workshops. She resides in Barrie Ontario with her cat Cricket and her husband Jim.

In 2010 Linda was Coordinator of the Medieval Fayre event in Stayner.

Bring with
Participants should bring with them a set of Drawing pencils if they have any and any Drawings they’ve done previously to show the instructor.

The meeting is held at the Simcoe County Museum at 1pm sharp until 3pm. The general public is invited to attend. There is a charge of $5 for members and $10 for non-members which covers instruction, materials and refreshments. NOTE: This meeting has a snow date in case the weather is bad. If the school buses are cancelled, so is our meeting and it will be held on March 7, same time and place.
