At our April 4 general meeting, artist Carolyn Boyer will teach us to create unique shapes made of different gauges of copper and coloured wire, which can be used as decorative hangings for window or garden.
The Artist
Carolyn Boyer is a stained glass artist in Barrie and operates "I Don't Do Windows" as well. “Making things” is what I love to do. Original stained glass creations and wire art are my current activities. I sell my work at the Barrie Farmers’ Market most Saturdays. “I don’t do Windows” is my business name.
My art training includes summer courses at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, the Curtis Art School of Confederation College with Paula Lehto (design) and Damon Dowbak (stained glass), the Thunder Bay Art Gallery with Jean Burke (quilting) and Wendy McDougall (drawing, painting) and the MacLaren Art Centre with Christina Luck (painting).
I am a grandmother of six, community and church volunteer, retired teacher and library assistant. I have lived in three provinces in Canada , the USA , and in Barrie , 10 years.
