Weaving

Like other crafts, weaving is a creative outlet that often produces a superior and unique fabric. It can become a complicated process but there are basic patterns and looms to appeal to a beginner. It is one step in the creative process used in creating something beautiful. The satisfaction of completing that end product may come long after you’ve taken the cloth from the loom.

Getting started: First watch the video below. It is an interview with a weaver and will give you an idea of what is involved.

A Google search of the internet for a weavers guild will give you some direction in your area. In Simcoe County, you can contact the Huronia Handweavers who meet regularly at the Simcoe County Museum and welcome new members.
